Biden’s latest border ‘fix’ is nothing but more kabuki theater

In yet another bid to seem like it’s doing something about the border, Team Biden says it’s getting faster in processing some asylum claims for some illegal migrants.

Without any hard sign that it’ll actually be rejecting those claims, which are overwhelmingly bogus and have been from the start.

Cue the world’s tiniest trumpet.

This is the kind of inside-the-Beltway kabuki theater that may well convince the Washington press corps that Biden’s actually doing something — but only because they’re already in the tank for him.

It tells you that the White House realizes it’s getting hammered in the polls on this issue, but still refuses to do anything fundamental about it.

It’s as pathetic as President Biden’s effort to convince people that inflation didn’t soar on his watch by repeating his blatant lie that it was 9% when he took over.

As if Americans couldn’t remember all the months he insisted it wasn’t truly soaring and was just “temporary.”

Oh, and this “get tough” move comes with a blatant loophole: It only applies to migrants who say they’re headed to Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, New York or Los Angeles.

Would-be migrants aren’t stupid, and they council each other: Give it 24 hours, and no one will claim those destinations.

People know the truth: Biden took office vowing to undo every Trump border-control policy, and rapidly kept that promise.

And almost everything he’s done in the name of reducing the ensuing flood has been more about legalizing the border-jumpers than stopping them.

Rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic in hopes he’ll get an A for effort is nothing but adding insult to injury.
