Ryan Gosling’s ‘The Fall Guy’ hangs on to the top box office spot

“The Fall Guy” took No. 1 at the box office for the second straight Friday, according to IMDB’s Box Office Mojo.

The action comedy took home $3.6 million.

The film, which is loosely based on the 1980s TV show, features Ryan Gosling working as a stuntman on the set of a film directed by his ex-girlfriend, played by Emily Blunt.

“The Fall Guy” took No. 1 at the box office for the second straight Friday, according to IMDB’s Box Office Mojo.

Though on top of the box office, with the pair’s combined star power pulled in just $39.5 million domestically so far, with another $36.7 million in receipts overseas.

Since it reportedly cost $125 to $150 million to make, it is not on course to turn a profit and is being deemed a flop, according to ScreenRant.

“Challengers” ticked up a notch to second place from third last week, earning $1.6 million.

The romantic tennis drama, starring Zendaya, whose stylist started a tenniscore fashion trend with the film’s release, will be available to stream on May 17.

“Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” edged up to fourth from last week’s fifth slot, with sales of $600,000, while “Unsung Hero,” a faith-based feature in release for 15 weeks, tallied sales of $526,000.
